INDIAN ARMY RECRUITMENT 2023-24: 10 +2 TECHNICAL ENTRY SCHEME COURSE COMMENCING FORM JAN 2024

The Indian Army is inviting applications from unmarried male candidates who have completed their 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) subjects and have appeared in the JEE (Mains) 2023 examination. These candidates, if they fulfill the eligibility conditions mentioned below, can apply for the grant of Permanent Commission in the Army.

Nationality

Candidates must be unmarried males and either citizen of India or subjects of Nepal.

Age Limit

Candidates must be at least 16½ years old and not more than 19½ years old on the first day of the month in which the course is scheduled to commence. In other words, candidates should be born between 02 Jul 2004 and 01 Jul 2007.

Educational Qualification

Only candidates who have passed the 10+2 examination or its equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from recognized education boards are eligible to apply for this entry. The calculation of PCM percentage for various state/central boards will be based on marks obtained in Class XII only.

Medical Examination & Physical Standards

Candidates must be able to withstand the rigorous mental and physical stress of military service in various terrains, climates, and geographical conditions. The medical examination aims to identify those likely to break down under exposure to various stresses experienced during active service.

Vacancies

There are a total of 90 provisional vacancies for this course. However, the number of vacancies may change depending on the training capacity at the Training Academy. The final number of vacancies will be determined based on organizational requirements at that time.

Type of Commission

Upon successful completion of the 4-year course, cadets will be granted a Permanent Commission in the Army with the rank of Lieutenant.

Training

The total duration of training will be 5 years.

The training program consists of the following:

  • Basic Military Training :1 year at the Officer Training Academy in Gaya or any other designated Training.
  • Institute decided by the Indian Army. Technical Training: (i) Phase-I (Pre-Commission Training): 3 years at CME Pune or MCTE Mhow or MCEME Secunderabad. (ii) Phase-II (Post Commission Training): 1 year at CME Pune or MCTE Mhow or MCEME Secunderabad.
  • Award of Degree: Candidates will be awarded an Engineering degree upon completing the final examination.

Selection Procedure

The selection procedure is as follows:

  1. Shortlisting of Applications: The Integrated HQ of MoD (Army) reserves the right to shortlist applications and set a cutoff without providing any specific reason. Once the candidates have been shortlisted, they will receive an email notification regarding their allotted center.
  2. SSB Selection: Only shortlisted eligible candidates, based on the cutoff, will undergo the SSB (Services Selection Board) process. The SSB will be conducted at one of the Selection Centres located in Allahabad (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bengaluru (Karnataka), or Jalandhar (Punjab). The SSB process involves evaluations by a Psychologist, Group Testing Officer, and Interviewing Officer. Two-stage Selection Procedure: Candidates who clear Stage I of the SSB will

  4. Issuance of Joining Letter: Candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit will be issued a Joining Letter for training based on the order of merit and the availability of vacancies, provided they meet all eligibility criteria.
  5. Execution of Bonds/Certificates: The finally selected candidates will be required to execute all the Bonds/Certificates as prescribed for the Cadets of NDA entry under AI 53/78.
  6. Arm/Service Allotment: Candidates must agree to accept the allotment of any Arm/Service in the interest of the organization in the event of final selection.
